Hello Mini Marlin families and welcome to Swim Season 2024!

Mini Marlins (pre-team) tryouts start today Monday, June 16th - where the kids will be evaluated to make sure our program is a good fit for them. Tryouts will also be held on Tuesday, June 17th and Wednesday, June 18th. Please plan on only attending ONE tryout session.   

My name is Gloria Velez, and I am your Mini Rep. This year we are so lucky to have a long time QV Marlins swimmer, NCSA finalist and a regionally decorated swimmer - Coach Maria Webb head our pre-team program.   

We are both very excited to see our returning and new families and cannot wait to meet you all!

Here are a few important announcements as we kick off the season:

• The Mini Marlins program begins today, Monday, June 16 and runs for through July 17th. 
• Try-Outs: Kids will be evaluated to make sure our program is a good fit for them (This is only at the discretion of the coaches - if the coaches decide that your child is not ready yet, he or she will be withdrawn, and registration fee will be refunded).
• ATTENTION!!! There will be a Mandatory Parent meeting with the Mini Rep Friday, 6/20/2025 during morning and afternoon try-outs in the Picnic Area where we'll go over some rules and regulations and answer your questions.

Mini Marlins Pre-Team Practice Schedule

Mini Tryouts:

• June 16 (Afternoon Tryouts): 5:15 PM - 6:00 PM
• June 17 (Afternoon Tryouts): 5:15 PM - 6:00 PM
• June 18 (Morning Tryouts): 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM

Mini Practice Begins: June 20 - July 17

• Morning (AM) Practice Times: Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
• Afternoon (PM) Practice Times: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 5:15 PM - 6:00
• NEW this season - Mini Marlins will practice on Friday 06/20, 06/27, and 07/11 from 5:30 - 6:00pm and the Team Potluck starts at 6:00PM. We hope our mini families plan to stay! 
• No PM practice on Friday 07/04

Please note: Practice times in the afternoon are subject to change depending on the ratio of mini swimmers/mini helpers.  Practices are also dependent on weather.  There are no set make up dates given we offer both morning and afternoon options.  

• Your child can come to both morning and afternoon practices throughout the season or to only one or the other. We don't restrict you to choosing only mornings or afternoons - these are just the options we have available.

-Important! Absolutely no drop-offs are allowed for the Minis!!! A parent or legal guardian must be on deck throughout the entire practice! If we don't see a parent on deck for more than 10 min, your child will be out of the water and not allowed to get back until the guardian is present - this is a serious liability matter, and we ask you to adhere to this regulation.
