Good Afternoon, Mini Parents,

Things have gotten off to a great start with our newest swimmers!  Here are a few events coming up to put on your calendars:

Tomorrow, Friday, is the weekly Potluck Dinner held at the pool immediately following the afternoon practice.  Please join us!  Doors open for dinner at 6:15.  Each family is assigned a food item to bring and also either setup, serving or clean up based on last name.  It promises to be a great night!

One of the purposes of the weekly potluck is to carb load the kids for their swim meet Saturday morning. If you are bringing a main dish, we suggest it be some type of heavy and complex carb like a pasta or rice dish! Thanks everyone! Please deliver your food to the Community Center and plan on performing your assigned job!

See the list below to determine your assigned food and role for Potluck. The Potluck Assignments will be posted on the bulletin board from now on, as well.

• G-L Bread and salad and SERVE
• M-R Main dish and CLEANUP
• S-Z Fruit and SERVE

Sunday, June 30 is the first Mini Meet of the season! 

 It will be held at Flower Hill Community Pool at 18250 Flower Hill Way, Gaithersburg, MD 20879.  

It's a great way to see the progress your children are making and to see how much fun they can have in a 'Swim Family'!  With 3 meets on our schedule, you'll have a wonderful opportunity to witness both.   Every swimmer will receive ribbons for their events.  We will have in water helpers to assist your children in their events.  

Please arrive at 8am for coach checkins and swimmer warmups.  The meet will start at 9am. 

 Parking at Flower Hill can be very limited;  look to the streets for a space as the Community Center parking lot is quite small.  I have included the list of swimmers and their scheduled events.  

If you can't attend or don't want to participate, please let me know so that we can remove your swimmer from the event roster.  This helps the day run smoothly as we can keep swim heats full and efficient. 

If anyone is willing to help time the swimmers during the meet, please let me know.  This is an easy task and a fun way to truly get into the spirit of the meet!  You get a front row spot to cheer on all the little ones!  We can split the timing so no one has to time the whole meet. 

So pack a picnic cooler, bring your lawn chairs and umbrellas for shade; it's going to be a great morning at the pool!  Concessions will also be sold by the Flower Hill Swim Team.

Wednesday, July 3, is DONUT DAY and the B meet for our coaches and helpers.  We will only have Mini practice in the morning this day.  Please come join us in the morning!  Remember free donuts are given to all swimmers after practice :)

Thursday, July 4, our own Quail Valley Swim Team will host a Sno Cone Mini Meet especially for our Minis.  All swimmers will receive a snow cone once they finish their last event and a special ribbon at the end of the morning.  Come and join us for this annual highlight to the Marlins season!  We'll get you in and out quickly so you can get on to whatever fireworks and bbq await you as you celebrate Independence Day!
