It’s getting to be THAT time of year again! The Board has been meeting monthly now since February and everything is coming together! We have been looking over the Volunteers and assessing what we need for the upcoming season.

OFFICIALS NEEDED: Referee, Starters, Stroke & Turn Judges

These positions require FREE training provided by MCSL (Montgomery County Swim League) beginning June 2nd. Dates and locations for the trainings are at this link - http://mcsl.org/Officials.aspx

We are in desperate need of parents to attend these trainings. If you take a look at the volunteer list above and the officials list below you will see almost everyone currently serving on the board is also some kind of official, as well as, other volunteer positions throughout the year. Many hands make light work, so our team will be stronger as we share the responsibilities to have a successful and fun swim season.

Text me (Mindy Mayhew) @ 240-271-2068 if you plan to get certified as a Stroke and Turn Judge for this summer so we can keep track of everyone. The training lasts for 2 years and you can’t train for the Starter until you’ve been a S&T for a season.Then once you’ve served as Starter for a season you can be trained as Referee.

Current Starters should consider the Referee training, so we have a back up for Jeremy! Any current Stroke & Turns should attend Starter training. Our expired S&T Judges are either no longer on the team or are serving in other volunteer positions. If you are an expired S&T you can renew that and attend Starter training this year. If you have any questions, please reach out to one of the Reps.
